Series Saturday: The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

Fifteen-year-old Clary Fray was just a normal girl living a normal life. But that normal life takes an unexpected twist when she is suddenly pulled into the world of Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to rid the Earth of demons. It was hard to leave the Shadowhunter world after she had realized that she was born a Shadowhunter, the handsome Jace was her brother and her mother was in a magical coma. The only way she was able to find her mother was to track down her evil and insane father, Valentine Morgenstern. To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? This series is so addicting, it's hard to put these books down. You can't help but to grow a bond with these characters as they face these unexpecting challenges. 
Let's not also forget the fact that you become addicted to the Shadowhunter world and want to become one yourself. So you end up buying a lot of temporary tattoos of the runes and order steles from etsy (please tell me I'm not the only one)
But beware, there is only one book left and I can promise you that tables will be flipped. 

I give this series five Nerdy Cats. I love this series and Cassandra is an absolutely amazing author.

Series Saturday: The Percy Jackson Series By Rick Riordan

This series has been well-known for a couple of years, and if you haven't hear or read it, THEN READ IT! This summer, I've finally finished reading the entire series. It's about a demigod named Percy Jackson who's son to the Greek god, Poseidon and has to face dangerous, life-threatening adventures with his friends Annabeth and Grover to stop the Titans who wants to take over Olympus.

What I love about Rick Riordan's work is that you just can't expect anything. If you think one thing, in the story, it'll end up being another thing. His work is just perfect, and that's what makes it very addicting and hard to put down. Now I'm reading the second book of Heroes of Olympus, Son of Neptune, and I've been hooked. He always wrote the Kane Chronicles and a couple of short stories. Along with helping to write the 32 Clues (I think that's what it's called) series.

I'd like to give this series 5 nerdy cats, and I strongly suggest you check out Rick Riordan's work if you haven't. Trust me, he is amazing! I will post my Indigo Spell review on Tuesday. I hope you guys have an amazing Labor Day weekend! :)

Series Saturday: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I know this is series review is super late but I don't want to wait until Feburary to start blogging. So if there's any bookworms interested in reading the series or you just love it like I do. Honestly, I didn't start out the series with the first book, Vampire Academy, I started out with Last Sacrifice, the last book.

I won't reveal any spoilers for anybody who wants to read the series. The series is basically a dhampir (part human part vampire), Rose Hathaway, on her adventures to become a Guardian to protect her Moroi (good vampire) Princess BFF Valisia Dragonmir. Throughout the series Rose starts falling in love with the sexy dhampir instructor Dimitri Belikov and runs into trouble with a trusted friend that turns into a foe, faces drama and Strigoi (evil vampires), gets caught in a love triangle between Dimitri and Adrian Ivashkov (Moroi prince), and gets accused of murder. But in the end of the series, everything is solved and fans are bawling their eyes out. But have no fear! Bloodlines is here! Bloodlines is the sequel to Vampire Academy.

So why should you read this book? It's sexy, dramatic, and addicting. Richelle Mead never failed us at Vampire Academy and she hasn't with Bloodlines. I recently suggested my friend to read the series and she LOVES it. So I give this series, 5 out 5 Nerdy Cats!
